Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety

Terrorism

The chances of experiencing a terrorist incident at a spectator event is exceptionally low.  However, being vigilant and proactive may help to prevent an attack taking place. Being prepared may save your life as well as others.

Unattended bags

You should never ignore unattended bags or other items.

Apply the HOT protocol. If the item is obviously suspicious report it through your chain of command immediately and follow the event’s procedure, remembering to use the appropriate code-words.

If the item is not obviously suspicious, don’t just assume that it is safe.  Don’t touch it. Try to locate the owner without alarming people. If no one claims it,  report it through your chain of command immediately and follow the event’s procedure, remembering to use the appropriate code-words.
